Hi.
A typhoon passed by.
It passed through so dynamically, like
“Hey there!
Outta my way!
The Great Typhoon is passing!
Move it along!”
Even though there was a typhoon today, the sky was blue this morning and it was toasty warm. It was such a lovely Sunday that I wondered if the typhoon would really come.
Not only that, but the weather report forecasted rain today, but it’s completely clear right now. The clouds have drifted away and the sky is clear.
Today is a day for moon viewing.
It’s the Harvest Moon, which comes only once year.
The most beautiful moon of the whole year.
Apparently, it’s very rare that the sky is clear enough to see it well in Japan.
But this year the moon shone brightly down on Japan.
It swept away all of the downcast feelings I had when the typhoon rattled the windows, and I was scared, and feeling alone. I feel like I’ve been given a reward.
The wind is still strong, but after it calms down a little I’m going to go by mochi.
And I’m going to eat it while I look at the moon.
Then when I’m done eating, I’m going to softly sing this song.
Rabbit, rabbit, what are you look at when you jump
You’re looking at the full moon as you jump
I’m going to put into it all my thanks for being able to see the moon with you today.
BTW, rabbit I drew (the green rabbit at the top of my blog, his name is Choi-chan) isn’t jumping, he’s eating. (That’s mochi he’s holding.)
He’s like me, he likes eating better than jumping.
Won’t you use the moon-viewing as an excuse to eat a dumpling?
Be Happy.
Today’s another great day.
BYE-CHIっ.
