I spent the end of 2012 in Okinawa.
The days are so warm even though it's winter, so now I'm freezing in the Tokyo night.
I hadn’t been to Okinawa in 12 years but all the places I loved remained the places I loved and brought back so many memories.
I couldn't go sightseeing when I lived there but this time my mom and my brother took me to enough places to make up for it.
They remembered that I love saata andagii
And I love sea grapes
And Okinawa soba
and they had all my favorite things waiting for me.
It made me so happy that I boasted about how I can put out futon,
And how I'm a reliable older sister now,
And about all the treasures you give me
I wallowed in
Nostalgic scents
Nostalgic voices
And nostalgic flavors.
Before I met up with friends I hadn't seen in 12 years I worried that we wouldn't know each other And that I wouldn't be able to talk to them.
But it was like we had gone back in time I could see them as they used to be back then.
I thought that time had swept it all away
But all the movements we spent together have left their mark on history
I'm so glad I could come.
I'm so glad I could see them.
I've been looking back a lot In my writing these past few days.
but something ordinary to someone else might be special to me.
And something I find ordinary might be special to someone else.
Every moment of every day we're alive is special.
It's up to you to make it special.
And I want to make something special that's why I'm beginning the LiFE is Special Always project.
